Five individuals create an explosive mixture between composed and improvised music. A band of established masters from the german jazzscene, who combine selfreliant improvisations, jazz-basics, technical perfection, soundphantasy and avantgarde music - that’s really an “experimentle”! (which means “small experiment” in Swabian!)

John-Dennis Renken has brought to life with this electric-acoustic 3 man occupation a formation in which the most different musical worlds meet. Lyrical-elegiac sound cascades meet rock-grooves and drum'n bass rhythms, succinct subjects contrast with powerful soli.
Zodiak! An about 20 degree wide zone around the sky ball within which the ostensible movements of the sun, moon and planets run off.

Jan Klare makes the impossible happen!
“the dorf" (formerly known as the "off domicil orchestra") can be described as a band of jazz adventurers under the direction of Jan Klare, monthly playing in the Dortmund jazz club domicil since November 2006. Every 3rd Thursday in the month an open pool of musicians come togehter. In the afternoon different concepts of improvisation as well as also composed pieces are rehearsed and then performed in the evening. In the meantime a firm core emerged and the repertoire strengthened. First concerts outside the Domicil e.g. on the JOE festival Esssen led to inspired reactions, the production of the first CD will be released in the autumn of 2008.
